Ow

I had one of those moron moments the other day. I forgot to call my best friend on his birthday. On top of that I shipped his present to me instead of him. Ordered a new one and sent it to him, however he got home too late to pick it up. =(

Ow

Oh yeah, had the dentist pull a wisdom tooth today. I'm debating the wisdom in having it done, as it rather hurts & is very uncomfortable...

No, I didn't get any good drugs out of it. =(

I sat down and watched Vanilla Sky with Cheri tonight. I was actually rather surprised at how good the movie was. While it was a rather nasty head-trip, I understood it completely in the end. Only, it has a geek ending. Since Cheri isn't a geek, like I am, she had trouble grasping the concepts involved...

Of course, you never get to see ANY of this stuff, it is only barely hinted at during the movie.

Er, if you haven't seen the movie, don't worry. The ending will still be a surprise unless you pay a lot of attention to the subtle re-occuring themes in the movie.

Sounds like Rockford wants to hire my friend Josh back. He was having some trouble deciding what to do and erroneously called me for advice. Honestly folks, I'm probably the last person who should offer advice to anyone regarding their lives as I tend to do a rather nice job of screwing mine up on my own. Somehow I managed to turn his skepticism into a pep-talk from me about why he'd be good at that job. I really just kind of pulled it out of my...hat...to be true. However, I did actually mean everything I said. He's really just kind of infectious about things if he really passionately believes in what he's doing. Then again, the guy did manage to sell almost $50,000 worth of Monster Cable in one year. (Yes folks, speaker wire... And that is a hell of a lot of speaker wire to boot! So much in fact, that Monster Cable felt it needed to present him with an award. (An over-sized gold-plated RCA plug on a pedestal.) Very cool.

Hrm, what else...

I get to spend next week in a training class. I'm a bit nervous for some damn reason. Probably because I keep thinking I've forgotten to do something at work...

Anyway, time to stop yapping away and get to bed.

This morning I had an epiphany of sorts. I'd much rather have something I enjoy drag on until I'm no longer interested in it, than for it to just end. Endings are sudden things, where loss of interest is gradual, and eventually you really want it to end.

On another note, please send Tami all of your incrediberry kool-aid.

That is all...

Hrm... 2 months, 25 days since the previous update.

Uh, went on the western carribean cruise. That was a blast. Met up w/ a couple from Hawaii that had just gotten married. We ended up on a few of the same shore excursions, so ended up hanging out together for a bit. This included a very drunken night at Carlos & Charlie's in Cozumel. Funny thing, I managed to remember more spanish the drunker I got. Yes folks, I remembered ACTUAL spanish. Mostly I was appologizing for Cheri & Jill's drunken adventures, but otherwise it was cool. Cheri bought a purple sombrero. For a shore excursion we did the Eco Jeep tour. They take you to some Mayan ruins, show you the first church built on the island, and explained the signifigance of it all. We then moved on to a wildlife refuge for some 4x4 action (I drove.), and a short boat ride across a lagoon to a private beach. The beach was beautiful, the 4x4 stuff was pretty much jack-hammer, but fun!

Georgetown, Grand Cayman was nice. Not a lot of people to hassel you, and some interesting shops to wander through. Cheri and I went snorkeling around a reef & a wreck from the 1930's that a hurricane had dumped just off shore.

We then headed out to Ochos Rios, Jamaica. We had a few hours until our excursion so we decided to wander around the shopping area. However we didn't get 20 feet out of the gate before we were hounded by cabbies. Of course they're 'just saying hello' but when they all do it, and keep trying to sell you a cab ride. Well I started to get REALLY pissed off in a hurry. Cheri told me I was being rude, and she'd take care of the talking from that point on. We just went back to the dock to get on our trimaran for snorkeling, sailing, and Dunn's River Falls. Snorkeling wasn't nearly as good as

I highly enjoyed the balcony room. I spent a lot of time on it reading books, and just watching the waves roll by. I'm not sure I could stand to not have a balcony on another cruise...

Uh, what else has happened...

Saw this on a crane. Those wacky construction guys.

Last weekend I went to my friend Janice's Wedding. I met up w/ some online friends that I've known for some time now at the wedding. Including one poor bastard who flew all the way across the puddle from England. It was fun getting to meet all the people I've yapped with online for years, but had never seen in person. Cheri thinks that's weird, but then again I'm not the one who wend on a date with someone she'd met online.

Things witnessed last weekend... 1 car accident on the interstate. Several cars inverted (upside down folks...), a lot facing the wrong direction. I figure there's a good chance that someone died.

I also witnessed a drunken arguement between a few of Janice's neighbors. Apparently there was a pool party and some lady walked downstairs to find some 30 year old guy with his pants around his ankles, and it involved a 14 year-old girl. The same 30 year-old guy reportedly tried to commit suicide a couple days ago in his garage. OD on pills. What a painful, and stupid way to even try to kill yourself. I guess he'd just been married recently. I'd feel sorry for the bastard but...

Then on the way back I noticed that I was getting (very) shitty cell phone reception the whole way. I stopped at a rest stop and someone was having a heart attack on a bench. I tried to dial 911, but the phone wouldn't work. Someone else nearby called the police instead on their phone. Cops showed up after about 5 minutes, so I left them to keep heading back home.

Other than that, not much to report.

Well, it's been a while since the last update.

I really hate laundry listing what all has happened since then, so I think I'll just skip it for now.

Finally went to the doctor yesterday regarding my heartburn. For those of you that don't know I have had heartburn damn near every night for the last 4-5 years or so.

It's progressively gotten worse as far as things that trigger it. Stress of course, chocolate, pizza, anything greasy, cheese, peppermint, caffeine, etc. Which, if you if know me, are my main staple foods.

Now I have some medication to take. Yesterday was the first day on the medication and I slept through the night w/out any heartburn. I started to feel a little in the morning around 4:00 am, but it wasn't bad enough to keep me awake.

Basically I need to adjust my lifestyle a bit, sleep on a foam wedge, and lose some weight.

Have a few new pictures up in my gallery. They were tearing down a rather old (and in some people's minds, historical) building, and I thought it would be neat to capture a few images of Des Moines being destroyed for my friend Daniel. He's always rather loathed this city, and I honestly can't blame him.

Work's been pretty hectic as of late, and the stress levels are starting to build once more.

But vacation is coming up in about 3 weeks so I'll be happily gone for a bit. =)

Well, I'd probably best go to work now.

Oh, and if you're reading this. Send me e-mail. I never get any other than how to increase my penis size, remortgage my non-existant house at an incredibly low rate, and refill the ink cartridges for my printer.
